the dream & the underworld

James Hillman studied the teachings of C.G. Jung, and later became the Director of Studies at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich. The concepts in this book are deep and dark and dreamlike. In it, Hillman investigates mythological figures and archetypes and their dark mirror selves. Another idea in the book is that the Underworld shouldn’t be thought of as the Greek’s version of Hell, but should be viewed as the subconscious.

Also, I listened to Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition while painting this.
